Alimentum Baby Formula Recall Lawsuit

 

In February, the FDA recalled a brand of Alimentum baby formula that contained milk by-products. As a result, babies who were fed the recalled product experienced bowel and gastrointestinal problems. Some babies even died. As a result, the FDA is investigating a recall and has issued refunds and replacement products. Attorney Wendy Webster-Cox is seeking to compensate parents of affected babies with refunds and replacement products.

The contaminated product is known to cause gastrointestinal distress in young children. An August 2021 recall of the formula caused it to be recalled. The lawsuit claims that a product manufactured in Sturgis, Michigan, has been contaminated with bacteria and must be thrown out. Affected formulas include EleCare, Similac, and Alimentum.

In October of 2018, a law firm in Miami filed a lawsuit on behalf of three parents who purchased Alimentum for their infant. The couple purchased the formula for their daughter in October, two months after the FDA issued an advisory. After the recall was issued, the babies suffered gastrointestinal distress, diaper rash, dehydration, sleeplessness, and diarrhea. Sadly, this product has been recalled for a decade now.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida, alleges that Abbott Laboratories failed to implement adequate quality control measures. In fact, the recalled Alimentum formula contains Salmonella, Cronobacter, and E.coli, all of which can cause gastrointestinal problems and make feeding difficult. The Florida lawsuit claims that a mother purchased the recalled Alimentum formula for her daughter and suffered gastrointestinal distress, sleeplessness, and a lack of appetite.

The Alimentum Baby Formula Recall Lawsuit has also been filed by a Florida father, Luis Alfredo Suarez. The suit claims that Alimentum contains bacteria, which can lead to gastrointestinal problems. The lawsuit seeks class-action status for the families of contaminated children. It is worth checking with your local legal counsel before making a decision.
