CBP Seizes Almost 8,000 Fake Driver Licenses

During the past two weeks, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers have discovered almost 8,000 fake driver licenses. These licenses are being used for underage drinking, credit card fraud, illegal transportation, and other crimes. They could also be used by terrorists to board airplanes or open bank accounts.

CBP officers have found counterfeit driver's licenses in Kentucky, Tennessee, and New York City. The licenses, which were mainly for young adults under the age of 21, were hidden within booklets and papers. These documents were shipped to homes throughout the country. Most came from Hong Kong, but they were also found in shipments from South Korea.

In the last six months, Customs and Border Protection officers have seized nearly 20,000 fake U.S. driver's licenses at Chicago's O'Hare airport, as well as at Cincinnati Port of Entry, and the Express Consignment Operations hub in Louisville, Ky. The DMV has also stepped up its efforts to counter the issue. It has taken extra steps to help police departments check licenses and stickers.

According to a recent CBP statement, the agency has focused its enforcement efforts on counterfeit documents that are produced overseas. The agency said it has intercepted shipments originating from China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Most of these shipments contained counterfeit state driver's licenses.

In October, CBP agents in Kentucky intercepted nearly 3,000 counterfeit U.S. driver's licenses and intercepted another 3,100 blank card stocks used to produce counterfeit licenses. The shipments were headed for New York City, Memphis, and Louisville.

CBP agents in Chicago have also FAKE DRIVER LICENSES intercepted counterfeit driver's licenses. One box contained 2,857 counterfeit state driver's licenses. Another box contained 1,565 counterfeit state driver's licenses.

According to a recent statement by the Dallas-Fort Worth CBP port director, Timothy Lemaux, the officers are partnering with universities and local schools to educate students about the dangers of submitting personal information online. The agency also has a database of all DMV drivers' licenses, which it uses to check for fakes.

In the first six months of 2020, CBP officers have seized more than 5,000 counterfeit U.S. driver's licenses, and the agency is focusing its enforcement efforts on those shipments. These documents were hidden within documents that were shipped from Britain, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. These documents could be used by criminals and terrorists to commit a wide variety of crimes, including credit card fraud, human trafficking, immigration-related crimes, and identity theft.

In October, CBP agents in Louisville intercepted a shipment of counterfeit driver's licenses. The documents were seized from two shipments that originated in Hong Kong. They were hidden inside books and booklets.

Despite the fact that the DMV has implemented anti-forgery measures, several companies outside of the United States are currently selling false U.S. State Driver licenses. Many of these sites use templates to generate fake IDs. The fake licenses can be printed with plastic card printers or can be generated offline.

There are numerous methods of creating fake licenses, but the most important thing to remember is to use an original license. These licenses are not legal to drive with and they are not allowed in police databases.
